2010-01-16MLK, Jr: Christian Hero?

Martin Luther King, Jr. was a great man in some ways, and a weak and horribly flawed man in others. Should we have a holiday named for him? Frankly, I'm just happy to have a paid day off, so I won't debate the holiday. We should understand more about the man, though.

Back in my native Manitoba, my new friends Dave & Cat Dyck put on the free Westman Bible Conference on November 14. While my dream is to attend next year, this time I settled for listening to audio of the seven sessions. Give it a listen and support our friends in the Great White North.

I had a great time feeling 24 recently when I went to see Stryper's 25th anniversary tour. Got some good pics, too.

Speaking of music, Beyond The Turntable site is going strong. My youngest son Matthew (15) is contributing reviews and has been quoted in a couple of official press releases. He was happy to catch Flyleaf live recently, while twin Amelia was much more excited to meet Jason Castro of American Idol fame.

The American Christian Fiction Writers national conference still has me inspired to keep plugging away on a couple of novels I'm determined to finish.

I'm not doing too much ranting because lots of time is going to teaching adult Bible Study at Community Church of Golden. Mp3s of my current series on Roman Catholicism are available there. I also run the website and I'm involved in church leadership as well. The rest of the time I'm writing reviews or working on my novels or playing hockey or driving my kids to their events, but once in awhile I get something posted. Keep track via RSS and you won't miss anything.

If you don't use an RSS reader yet, I recommed Google Reader because you can access it from any computer. It's a great way to keep up with all of your favorite blogs (and this one, too!).

My Search feature (top right) does a pretty good job on the rants and reviews. Try entering 'emerg*' (without the quotes) to see my take on things emergent and emerging.

As always, thanks for sharing any comments. Disagreements are usually more interesting than applause!
