The Denver Post is running a series on a young man named Ian Fisher who served in Iraq, following him from high school through training and his tour of duty. Back in July of 2008, the Rev. John H. Bell Jr of Wellshire Presbyterian Church (PCUSA) showed an utter absence of discernment as he baptized Ian:
Ian considered himself a religious person but said that baptism meant nothing to him spiritually. Still, he felt pleased that even going through the motions made such a difference to his mother.

"It has given me a lot stronger sense of peace letting him go on deployment," Teri said. "I just feel like he has that little extra in his pocket to watch over him."
It meant nothing to Ian, but to mom it was a good luck charm. This is what the Reformers died for? The Rev. John H. Bell Jr had better hope Calvin, Knox, et al, have no idea what he did when they all meet in heaven...if they meet.

"This is what the Reformers died for? "

Yeah, it was all a big silly minor misunderstanding. Clearly you missed the memo. {eyeroll}

Glad I wasn't sipping my hot chocolate right there, or my screen would be wearing it. Jersey over the head for the Reverend! Holy beatdown, Batman!

(Waves to Matt) Hi, fellow Manitoban!
